Dior, Miss Dior

Hey guys!

I finally decided to take the leap and buy the Miss Dior (formerly Miss Dior Cherie)..Although it is a classic perfume and a 'must-have' for some women I smelt it once and just felt as if the smell was slightly 'mature' for me. It was never one of those fragrances that would catch my eye - or nose - when out shopping.

I decided to buy the 30ml EDP version. This is what it looks like. (Price: £46.50 for 30ML from John Lewis)

The reason I bought the 30ml version was because 1- I wasn't sure about how i'd like the smell and 2 - because they're easier to chuck into a handbag as opposed to a 100ml or 50ml bottle! The packaging is very girly and simple. I think the bow really gives the bottle that extra 'oooh' !

When I first opened the box I was unsure about the scent before even spraying the damn thing - I could smell it through the packaging! But then when I sprayed it I was somewhat pleasantly surprised! The scent is slightly musky and floral at the same time. It is not an in-your-face scent and the floral notes are very subtle. The smell lingers throughout the day which is what we all look for in a perfume!

I had heard many people compare the soap and glory body butter to this but I found the soap and glory body butter (which I love!) to be a lot more fruity

On another note I've also seen that there are two different types of Miss Dior perfumes - one which comes with pink juice the other yellow (I have the yellow) and I think maybe the pink version smells much more similar to the soap and glory righteous butter!

I would recommend this to someone looking for a slightly mature, evening scent with hints of floral notes which lasts all day! I Have grown to like this scent the more I have worn it although I will admit I do prefer other scents to this! I wouldn't recommend this to someone who likes playful smells which have very fruity, sweet or floral notes (think Britney Spears - Circus or Fantasy) or to someone who is on budget as it is kinda expensive when repurchasing!

Hope you guys likes this!
Have a good day/evening/night wherever you may be!

TOPSHOP Lipstick Review

Hey Guys!

I was doing some online shopping the other day and came across this lipstick by Topshop. The colour looked really nice so I decided to purchase it and test it out. It actually just came in the post today.

So here goes... This is the TOPSHOP Lips - Velvet, Ohh La La

TOPSHOP Lips - Velvet, Ohh La La

The packaging is very basic and states the obvious (in this case "lips") but I think it still looked quite nice!

Moving on to the actual tube, this is what it looks like...

The packaging and shape of the lipstick itself is very generic. It does have a nice feel to it and is sturdy.  The colour of this lipstick is absolutely beautiful! Although it looks sort of pink in the tube it apply's as a peachy-orange colour which I think would suit someone with olive or medium-tan skin! It is a nice summer shade IMO. It has a slight scent to it (very subtle and not overpowering) and has a lip-balm type of feel when it is on the lips.

(All these images are taken with flash)

Here is a swatch of the lipstick. This is after I had swatched it back and forth a couple of time as it is quite sheer so you can build it up to suit your preference :)

Hope this helped!

Goodbye 2013!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!
(yes I know it's a little bit late but netter late than never eh?)

Wow, 2013 flew by! I hope everyone had a fab Christmas and New Year! I actually didn't get up to much on NYE. I stayed at home and watched the fireworks with my nephews. Seeing the sky light up like that every year never ceases to amaze me!

Photo Rights: Google Images

So as the new year dawned, I decided on making a couple resolutions. Now I know most people never stick to their list of resolutions but this year I have decided to choose some realistic resolutions to actually stick to. I think that is one of the main reasons why people find it difficult to stick to resolutions as some are very unrealistic and we cannot change our habits overnight. We need time to adjust both physically and mentally.

So...

RESOLUTION NO.1

- GET FIT! - Now I know this is a big issue for a lot of people. I want to feel better physically and mentally.. I want to tone my body - nothing too extreme, just so much so I can feel more comfortable! I will not however be joining as gym. Damn those places are BORING! I will be doing short 10-30 minutes workouts at home where I feel comfortable.

I feel it is important to have someone to exercise and get fit with, so you can offer each other motivation.. this is where my sister comes in LOL. As we are going anyway on holiday in May we have decided to give ourselves a time frame to lose a few pounds and get toned. (At the moment I weigh around 9.3 Stone or around 59kg and I am 5ft5).

I will keep you guys updated with my progress!

NO.2

Now this resolution is very different to No.1. As you all know we live in a world where everything is done by some sort of computerised robot lol! Don't get me wrong, I love technology and I love taking crisp looking photographs with a DSLR Camera, I love capturing intimate moments with family and friends but I absolutely HATE the fact that all these memories are stored on a flimsy memory cards.

Do you remember those days where we would have a disposable camera and print our pics?? Or simply just flicking through a photo album??

Yes me too... So, i have decided to make sure I print out every photo I have and to put them all in photo albums. I know it will be somewhat costly but this way I know I have a hard-copy if they were to get deleted accidently -(this has happened to me before, SOO FRUSTRATING!)

What you see above is a 2TB external hard drive and various USB and Micro SD cards just packed with photographs! Now if I were to loose these photos I would KICK MYSELF!!

NO.3

Resolution number 3 is slightly more private but I will still share it with you anyway. I grew up in a somewhat religious family. I live my daily life by the morals that are taught through my religion but over the last couple of years i feel as if I have become disconnected with my faith. I do not turn to my God or even stop to thank the Lord for all the blessings I receive every day. I wish to educate myself more about my religion, to learn first hand for myself..to interpret what I read as I want to, not how it has been dictated by others. I feel this is a big problem for a lot of people. They do not learn and discover for themselves but believe what they are TOLD to believe in. So, this year I am going to try my absolute hardest to try to learn more about my faith and to understand it properly from my own point of view!

So there you have it, my resolutions for the year 2014! Please share yours with me! I would love to read them!

Have a good day/evening/afternoon wherever you are!
